Join us this Friday, June 14th for our June members meeting!
The guest speaker for this meeting will be Benjamin Law. In his presentation, Benjamin will share his journey in astrophotography, his learning experiences and his stories, in hopes of igniting the interest of others to dip their toes into this amazing astrophotography experience.
Intrigued by several celestial events in the early 80s, Benjamin began to find deep interest in space since he was a kid in Hong Kong. He joined various astronomy clubs, learned more about the beautiful sky, and enjoyed showing the night sky to people. One year his father took him to a camp and that moonless starry night totally changed his view about the night sky. Benjamin immigrated to Canada in the early 90s, and pursued his interest in astrophysics academically at University.
As his three children grew, Benjamin resumed his passion about photography in the city, especially in astrophotography. This challenging hobby brought him tears and rewards. As a Physics teacher, he demonstrates to his students how to solve problems in relation to his experience in astrophotography.
We will also have our monthly favourite – “The Sky this Month” for this summer with Stephen Germann. We will also gladly accept donations of food or cash for delivery to Hamilton FoodShare. Anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated!
Doors open at 7:00 PM and the meeting begins at 7:30 PM. For those not able to attend in person, we will be livestreaming the meeting on ZOOM for club members and will also be post the full meeting on our YouTube channel after the meeting.
We hope to see you there!
